Campus Community Resources

  • As an enrolled student, you are automatically a member of the Associated Students of the University of Utah. ASUU is led and represented by students elected by you. We strive to provide much-needed resources and services to students, host events and programs, and advocate for students in our interactions with University administrators. We work to be a powerful, representative, transparent, and inclusive voice for all students who call the University of Utah home.

  • Our mission is to inspire and mobilize people to strengthen communities, through learning, scholarship, and advocacy. Learn more here.

  • Check out the wide variety of fitness opportunities available on campus: outdoor adventures, climbing, swimming, group fitness classes, personal training, intramural sports, and sports clubs. You can find out more here.

  • The U has 21 fraternities and sororities with nearly 2,000 students involved. Greek life provides programming with a focus on personal development, health and wellness, risk management, diversity, equity & inclusion, and the promotion of leadership development.

  • The Veterans Support Center is committed to establishing a supportive environment and welcoming campus culture for our veterans, military-connected members, and their families. We enhance the educational experience of the military affiliated students to remove barriers and maximize the academic, psychosocial, and career potentials that results in unconditional success in the classroom and beyond.

Safety & Wellness Resources

  • The Basic Needs Collective (BNC) functions as a space for student interaction, community development, and a coordinated exchange of information in order to promote wellness as a key to student success. Recognizing the many factors that contribute to wellness, the BNC seeks to provide a central location for resources related to food security, affordable housing, health insurance, managing finances, legal services, and mental health, to name a few. In order to do this, the BNC builds upon the existing success of institutional and community partnerships to facilitate supporting students through warm introductions and connections to internal and external partners.

  • Through community effort and research on topics such as race/racism and social justice, the Black Cultural Center seeks to create an inclusive community for all students and faculty at the U.

  • We provide academic, housing and campus accommodations among other services to those with disabilities. Click here for more information.

  • The Center for Campus Wellness team consists of prevention specialists, educators, victim-survivor advocates, and a cohort of students who provide comprehensive wellness and safety services to the campus community.  Established in 1988 as the Alcohol and Drug Education program, this Center has since evolved, developed and expanded to better serve the campus community through the commitment of being the primary education and wellness resource office for the University of Utah.

We offer wellness education, trainings and workshops, victim-survivor advocacy services and support, STI/HIV testing for students, and student involvement opportunities.

  • The University of Utah food pantry provides non-perishable, nourishing food for our students, their families, faculty, and staff. Why? Because there are times when we all have struggles: Loss of a job, paying tuition, medical emergencies. The basic demands of life sometimes make us have to choose between food or bills. We don’t want any member of our Campus Community to have to choose between having some food on the table and keeping up with the emergencies that come up.

  • The Financial Wellness Center provides a competent and confidential atmosphere where students and post docs can have access to accredited counseling services, quality financial education and appropriate tools to achieve lifelong successful financial outcomes.

  • The primary support service for all international students and alumni. Click here for more information.

  • All University of Utah students, their spouses, and dependents are eligible for care at the Student Health Center. Eligible students pay a small student health fee as part of their University tuition fees that allows the center to discount certain services 30-60% over other community providers. All F1 and J1 visa holders who are part of the English Language Institute (ELI) courses are also eligible for services at the center while taking classes.
